"The almost-full moon shone down upon about 75 of us as
we stood quietly in front of the Old Capitol at 6:00 p.m. on
January 1.  Our candles glowed in the cold, dark night,
and music played softly in the background: beautiful choir
(and other) renditions of traditional peace songs such as
Let There Be Peace on Earth, Study War No More, and
Peace Like a River.  We mourned the deaths of not only
the 3,000 Americans killed in Iraq, but also the thousands
of Iraqis killed in this tragic war.
